2008 Wedding of Aaron Morris and Annie Stafford

2008 Wedding of Aaron Morris and Annie Stafford
On October 24th, 2009 Kyoshi James Morris and Sensei Lori Morris had the honor of hosting the wedding of their son Aaron T. Morris to Annie J. Stafford in the Shinpu-Ren Dojo. The school was draped in lavender and sage fabric with hundreds of white Christmas lights, and white roses with lilies. Annie wore a beautifully embroidered sage and lavender Ao Dai with a bouquet of roses and lavendar tiger lilies. Aaron was dressed in a Hakama with a chestnut brown silk top.
Annie’s father was the minister for the wedding, and in keeping with the spirit of the event , he wore Hanshi Vances all black Gi with the “Warriors for the Lord” emblem on the back. Students sat quietly in zazen position while the wedding commenced. A beautiful cake, drapped with cherry blossom twigs, and the Chinese symbols for double happiness, along with punch were shared by all. Afterward, the students put on a terrific showing for the bride and groom with sparring and grappling matches that went on into the night. A very happy and proud event for Kyoshi and Sensei Lori to welcome Annie into the Morris family.
