At age 15 he moved to northern Idaho and attended boarding school there for two of his high school years. It was at this time that he began training with the Shinpu-Ren school in Prescott. He began competing in the USKA tournament circuit at this time also. In November of 2005 he captured Adult Black Belt Lt. weight champion at the California State Championships.

In 2006 Todd was hired as a counselor at YMCA Camp Lakewood in Potosi, MO. There he taught a basic Martial arts clinic to the campers. Todd currently teaches three days a week in the dojo. His open and friendly personality add a special component to the work floor. His knowledge base of Kenpo brings new techniques and theory to the students and staff. As a student and instructor Sensei Todd is able to relate to the new students in a fresh and confident manner. He is a credit to the school.

"The discipline from the martial arts has affected everything in my life, even how I am with my friends. In class I want to demonstrate to students an appreciation tor the teachings of Karate. My students will always be my first priority. Teaching them for the purpose of defense and awareness. It's and honor for me to teach. I'm amazed to watch the growth that students go through. It's great to see a beginner finally learn their first kata and it's equally humbling to see a master or other skilled artist perform something amazing."
