Class Overview:

This class is designed for kids 3 to 7 years old. Children age 3 are required to have a parent or guardian accompany them on the floor as a partner until they are able to integrate into the class on their own. This gives parents a great opportunity to help their child be successful on the floor and provides an hour of Mommy or Daddy and Me time.

This class also serves as a great starting point for children that require just a while longer to achieve the maturity level to be in the Regular Karate Classes.

The concepts of stranger (danger) awareness, along with physical activities to build confidence and agility are a regular part of the class. Discipline is taught through positive re-enforcement and general class structure.

Class is broken up into segments of Martial Arts Activities to allow for better attention on the part of the student. Mighty Mights learn the history of the system and the Okinawan terminology along with the physical elements of the class. They learn defense, forms and all of the fundamental Basics that are in the classes for older students. Gradually the students advance to a level that will allow them to participate confidently in the *regular* kids Karate class and be successful. Students that can demonstrate most or all of the White Belt Fundamentals can be promoted from Mighty Mights into the regular Karate Class and are usually ready to advance on their first day.

Overall co-ordination increases, mastery of complex physical skills, hand eye co-ordination, general attention span, social and behavioral skills and attention to details also increase.
